Bill banning homosexual transformation treatment passes initial vote, enraging ultra-Orthodox

A bill outlawing“gay that is controversial treatment” passed an initial vote into the Knesset on Wednesday, drawing cheers from LGBT liberties advocates and angering Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s ultra-Orthodox governmental allies.

The bill advanced level after Defense Minister Benny Gantz’s Blue and White celebration supported the legislation, in a move that created a coalition crisis that is fresh. The government’s work celebration also broke using the coalition to straight back the bill.

The opposition-spearheaded movement passed away with 42 lawmakers supporting it and 36 objecting.
